Campbell County School District - Assessment Rubric

Department: Math Course: Grade 7
Essential and Enduring Learning: Understanding and use of both metric and US measurement to determine length, weight, capacity, time, and money.
Curriculum Code: MA-07-04
Task: Demonstrate measuring skills, complete a written assessment, and count change.

Indicators

Determining length, mass, and capacity Unit conversions - Understanding of units used in real life situations and making conversions within a system. Money - Finding value of a set of coins and making change.
Level 4
Advanced
On a list of 15 skills, the student demonstrates mastery of 14 or 15 skills. 34 - 36 correct on a written exam with 36 points. Student correctly determines the value of a set of coins and determines the correct amount of change up to $10. They count it back using the add-on process using the fewest coins possible.
Level 3
Proficient
On a list of 15 skills, the student demonstrates mastery of 12 or 13 skills with at least 2 in each category. 29 - 33 correct on a written exam with 36 points. Student correctly determines the value of a set of coins and determines the correct amount of change up to $10. They count it back using the add-on process.
Level 2
Partially
Proficient
On a list of 15 skills, the student demonstrates mastery of 9 to 11 skills with at least 1 in each category. 24 - 28 correct on a written exam with 36 points. Either the student does not correctly determine the value of the coins or does not make change correctly.
Level 1
Non
Proficient
On a list of 15 skills, the student demonstrates mastery of less than 9 skills. 23 or less correct on a written exam with 36 points. Neither finds the value of the coins or makes change correctly.
Scoring Process: Level 4 = Total 11 - 12
Level 3 = Total 9 - 10 with no score of 2
Level 2 = Total 6 - 8
Level 1 = Total 3 - 5
Indicator 1: 15 skills checkoff sheet - can be demonstrated in science, math, or other applied course.
Indicator 2: 36-point test covering appropriate units for real-life situations and performing conversion in both US and metric systems of length, mass, and capacity.
Indicator 3: Teacher observation - Skills must be demonstrated by each student.
