The Cell

The cell is so complex and capable that some organisms are made up of only 1 cell and can still perform all the important functions of a living being. Not only that but every part of our whole body is made up of cells - that's how diverse they are! They make up our bones, our blood, our heart, and our hair! We call organisms that are made up of only one cell unicellular. An organism that is made up of our many cells is called multicellular.

Remember the whole cell is only about 1/1000 of an inch long. This makes it even more remarkable when you think about how much a cell can do.
