  • American Museum of Photography
    This Web site features the who's who of famous shutterbugs. The museum also has tours of architecture and natural photography, as well as favorite portraits.

  • Art and Culture
    This Web site offers biographies of major figures in design arts, film, literature, music, and the performing and visual arts. Log on and research artistic movements, terms, and timelines.

  • ARTROOM
    It's a virtual playground designed just for kids! The site has just about everything, from art "sparkers" that give your brain a jump-start when you're looking for an idea, to historical facts and trivia from the world of art.


  • ARTSConnectEd
    The Minneapolic Institute of Art and the Walker Art Center created this wonderful resource to allow different learning styles to be influenced by art. The art gallery allows visitors to create their own online gallery of their favorite pieces, while the Playground lets users create a variety of different types of artwork. Older students will love the interactive art activity in "Another Look" in the Look and Listen part of the Playground. Explore online or download the Teacher's Guide.

    A resource center for teachers and students.  Includes online exhibits, lesson plan and curriculum guidance, annotated links and more.

  • THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO
    This Web site presents a sizable online selection of works from the museum's 16 permanent collections of American, European, Asian, and African art with descriptions. Also offers art games, online art publications, teacher resources, and a link to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

  • THE COLOR PENCIL CHALLENGE

    Working with some of the museum and galleries online, there are six branches to Eyes on Art. The activities are designed to lead in a progression.

  • The Guide to Fine Art
    Visitors can find up-to-date art information classified by painter, school of art, and subject. Users will find biographies of the art world's biggest names dating from medieval times to the present day, examples of famous artworks, analyses of different artistic movements and traditions.
