ARAPAHO

The Arapaho lived in a number of different places, but after they crossed the Missouri they lived in northeastern Wyoming. The Northern Arapaho lived in Wyoming for a long time.

Before coming to Wyoming the Arapoho were sedentary and lived in the Red River Valley. The Arapaho were once the famous raiding tribe of the Plains.

The Northern Arapaho were sent to live on the reservation in Wind River, Wyoming. After the Arapaho made peace with the Shoshoni, the Shoshoni shared the reservation with them.

Litte Raven was a famous Arapaho Chief. This picture was taken sometime between 1868 and 1874.
