Shoshoni


The Shoshoni were sometimes called "Digger" Indians. Sacagawea was a Shoshoni. This tribe lived in small groups of eight to ten people. They traveled around looking for fish, birds, and rabbits. In the winter the small groups of Indians would come together to share their food.

The Northern Shoshoni lived in western Wyoming. They became buffalo hunters like the Plains tribes. The Comanche Indians broke off from the Shoshoni.
